For Children With Learning Differences   Charis Hills is a Christian special needs, recreational summer camp helping children with learning differences build confidence and find success. We serve campers ages 7-18. We welcome campers with ADHD, Learning Disabilities, speech/language and hearing impairment, emotional/behavioral challenges including high functioning Autism and Asperger's. Dallas Zoo Conservation, Education and Science   Every Day Is a Field Trip at Dallas Zoo's New Preschool and Spring Break Camp Check in to the Dallas Zoo's Preschool and Spring Break Camp classes, which offer unique educational opportunities for children who love animals. Nature Tykes and A-Zoo Preschool Safari are 12-week programs for children ages 3 to 5. The first-ever Spring Break Camp at the Dallas Zoo is available for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Preschool programs follow early-childhood curriculum guidelines for Texas TEKS and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and include goals for the Council for Environmental Education. Children develop skills in language, literacy, phonemic awareness, creative arts, problem solving, critical thinking, mathematical skills, scientific thinking and observation, and cooperation and social skills. Each day students participate in group discussions, songs, stories, games, art projects, math, and literacy activities about the live animal visitor they will meet in the classroom. They will take a tour in the Zoo and receive a nutritional snack. The three-hour classes are offered one day per week, and are limited to 20 students led by two certified teachers per class.
